Maahes is son of Bast and an unknown human. (Although sometimes Ra or Atum is considered his father)
He's one of my favourite Egyptians gods.
God of war, weather, cats, lotus flowers, protector of matrilineality and of the high priests of Amun, but also the god of knives and devouring captives (cannibalism).
His form is a lion, and his name means "He who is true beside her", but he has many kennings, or nicknames, including "The Scarlet Lord" (Referring to the blood of his enemies), "Lord of the Slaughter", "Avenger of Wrongs", "The Kindly One", and "Helper of the Wise Ones".
